About Jeff

Hi, I’m Jeff Sinclair, a dedicated mindfulness coach with a passion for helping reduce stress, build resilience, and live with greater clarity.

I didn’t always see myself teaching mindfulness. My journey began in college when I started exploring meditation—not just as a spiritual curiosity, but as a way to unlock my potential and deepen my understanding of myself and the world. Over the years, mindfulness became my foundation for daily life and helped me navigate major events like becoming a father, facing tragic personal loss, and managing chronic pain.

From Physics to Mindfulness

I grew up in suburban Virginia, playing soccer, swimming, and hockey. My love for science and problem-solving led me to earn a B.S. in Physics from the University of Mary Washington, which eventually led to a career in Technology Support. While I enjoyed the analytical nature of my work, I also recognized the stress and burnout that came with it.

During my years in IT, I realized that mindfulness could make a real difference in the workplace. It wasn’t just about stress reduction—it was about focus, emotional intelligence, and fulfillment, and connection. That realization fueled my desire to teach others.

Commitment to Daily Practice

For years, I practiced meditation sporadically, but when I found out I was going to be a father, I made a commitment to daily mindfulness practice. I wanted to be the best dad possible, and I knew that mindfulness would help me cultivate patience, presence, and emotional resilience. This practice has shaped how I navigate parenting, from staying calm during tantrums to setting a strong example of emotional awareness for my kids. Teaching Mindfulness in the Workplace

With over 1,400 hours of formal mindfulness practice, including daily sessions, life activities, and retreats, I’ve experienced firsthand the transformative power of mindfulness. At CarMax, where I worked as a Senior Technology Support Analyst, I started teaching mindfulness informally to my colleagues. What started as a small initiative grew into a movement within the company, with hundreds of teammates benefiting from the techniques I shared. Mindfulness for Parenting & Pain Management

Mindfulness isn’t just something I teach—it’s something I live every day. As a parent, mindfulness has been a game-changer, helping me stay patient, engaged, and present with my children. It’s also been a crucial tool for managing chronic pain. Living with fibromyalgia and orthopedic challenges, I’ve learned how mindfulness can calm an overactive nervous system, bring relief, and even transform suffering into growth.

My Passion for Teaching and Coaching Mindfulness

After years of teaching mindfulness part-time, I realized that this work is what truly fulfills me. My goal is to help others—whether they are busy professionals, parents looking for more balance, or individuals managing chronic pain—discover how mindfulness can support them in their daily lives.
